Important: Your personal identifying information (name, exact birth date, time, and place) is stored locally on your device. However, when generating readings, we send astrological context (such as your sun sign, moon phase, and moon sign) to third-party AI services. We do not send your name or exact birth details.

Automatically Collected Information

We automatically collect minimal technical information through:

  • Apple App Store Connect (analytics and crash reporting only)

How We Use Your Information

Your personal information is used to:

  • Calculate astrological data locally on your device (sun sign, moon sign, etc.)
  • Display personalized greeting messages using your first name
  • Save your reading history locally on your device
  • Generate AI-powered tarot readings by sending astrological context (not personal identifying information) to OpenRouter

Note: When you request extended readings (such as Past-Present-Future or Decision Spreads), any optional text you provide (e.g., focus areas, questions, or intentions) is also sent to OpenRouter to personalize your reading. This text does not include your name or birth details unless you explicitly include them in your input.

Third-Party Services

To provide our AI-powered readings and astronomical data, we use the following third-party services:

OpenRouter API

We use OpenRouter (via secure Vercel proxy) to access AI models from Google Gemini and OpenAI for generating personalized tarot readings. Each reading request includes: the tarot card(s) drawn, your sun sign (e.g., "Aries Sun"), current moon phase, and moon sign. We do not send your name, exact birth date, birth time, or birth place. The astrological context is calculated on your device, and only the results (like "Pisces Moon") are transmitted for reading generation.

Farmsense Lunar API

Used to retrieve current moon phase data for daily readings.

U.S. Naval Observatory API

Used to fetch astronomical events such as moon phases, eclipses, and seasonal transitions.

Apple App Store Connect

Collects anonymous usage analytics and crash reports to help us improve the app.

Data Storage and Security

Your personal identifying information (name, exact birth date, birth time, and birth place) is stored locally on your device using secure storage provided by iOS. We do not maintain any servers that store your personal data.

When generating AI-powered readings, we transmit astrological context (sun sign, moon phase, moon sign) along with the tarot cards drawn to OpenRouter for processing. This data is sent via a secure Vercel proxy and is used only to generate your reading. We do not store this data on our servers, and OpenRouter processes it in accordance with their own privacy policy.

Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share your personal identifying information (name, exact birth date, birth time, birth place) with any third parties.

The only data transmitted to third parties is the astrological context (sun sign, moon phase, moon sign) and tarot cards drawn, which is sent to OpenRouter solely for the purpose of generating your reading. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

Your Privacy Rights

You have complete control over your personal data:

  • You can delete all locally stored app data by uninstalling the app
  • You can modify your personal information at any time in the Settings screen
  • You can disable notifications at any time
  • You can choose not to provide birth information (though this will limit astrological personalization)

Children's Privacy

Tarot Astra is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content without explicit permission.

AI-Generated Content

Readings provided by Tarot Astra are generated using artificial intelligence (via OpenRouter, Google Gemini, and OpenAI). While we strive to provide meaningful and coherent content, the App may occasionally generate unexpected or inaccurate information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated readings.

Service Availability

We strive to maintain consistent availability of the App, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Maintenance and updates
  • Third-party API limitations or outages
  • Technical issues beyond our control

Pricing and Payments

Tarot Astra is currently free to download and use. We may introduce paid features, subscriptions, or in-app purchases in the future. Any such changes will be clearly communicated, and your continued use of the App will constitute acceptance of any updated pricing terms.

Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

  • Any decisions, actions, or outcomes based on readings, interpretations, or any other content from the App
  • Any reliance on readings for medical, legal, financial, relationship, or other life decisions
  • Any inaccuracy, incompleteness, or misinterpretation of readings or astrological data
  • Any emotional, financial, physical, or other harm allegedly resulting from App use

INDEMNIFICATION:

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tarot Astra, its developers, operators, affiliates, partners, and content providers from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the App
